Nizhnekamskneftekhim employees to participate in WorldSkills Russia final
The final of the 7th WorldSkills National Championship kicks off this week. Over 1,500 participants will be competing in competencies consisting of six sections of professions. A team of 258 people – it is competitors from different districts of the republic – will represent Tatarstan. Nizhnekamskneftekhim workers are in the team. Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin instructed them together with other representatives of the city. More is in the report.

The team Tatarstan for the WorldSkills National Championship final has been made of the best representatives of 15 districts of the republic. 12 youngsters are from Nizhnekamsk. Mayor of the city Aydar Metshin met with them before their departure.
“It is gratifying that industrial companies of our district joined the WorldSkills movement. Among those companies I would like to especially emphasise the role and contribution of our backbone enterprise Nizhnekamskneftekhim, separately express words of gratitude to the company’s officials, which is an active partner of professional educational institutions, gives great support when preparing competitors,” said Nizhnekamsk Mayor Aydar Metshin.
“Folks, you’re a guide for us, you will do it!”
Four people will participate on behalf of the backbone enterprise. Electrician Vitaly Tsaryov is one of them. The young man studies at Nizhnekamsk Polytechnic College and simultaneously works at Nizhnekamskneftekhim. He has been training for the WorldSkills competition for two years – 6-8 hours of training are on his daily agenda.
“The competition itself, rivalry inspires me because you compete with other people. In addition, it’s a great experience and good groundwork for my career. I’ve learned a lot during this time, even reached the final,” Vitaly Tsaryov shared.
Another three people will represent NKNK with him. It’s a laboratory assistant of chemical analysis Aygul Burganova and equipment operator Rail Abdullin. They represent such competencies as Laboratory Chemical Analysis, Production of Polymer Goods, Plumbing and Heating. Another participant equipment operator Shamil Khakimov is on the extended list of the national team of Russia for the world championship. He will compete for Nizhnekamskneftekhim out of competition in Production of Polymer Goods.
“Folks, you’re a guide for us, you will do it! In any case, you can hope for our support, we will be rooting for you! You’ve achieved such results, reached the final only thanks to your diligence, perseverance. We hope very much your performance will be great. I want to point out that the company’s employees have always been the core value of our enterprise, and it’s great that our young specialists who the enterprise’s future lies with are so smart, brave and highly qualified,” said Deputy Director General on Staff and Social Issues at Nizhnekamskneftekhim Rodion Bulashov.
NKNK allocates over 26m rubles to create a training site
To prepare for WorldSkills, Nizhnekamskneftkehim became responsible for the competence Production of Polymer Goods at Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov’s instruction. It’s quite a new discipline in the championship’s programme – it was first presented at WorldSkills in Brazilian São Paulo four years ago. The competence is special because it requires a set of skills, it includes design, milling and welding, construction, knowledge of technological processes and analytic control of product quality.
In order to train specialists, NKNK allocated over 26m rubles to create a training site at the N. Lemayev Petrochemical and Petroleum Refining College and purchase of consumables. Now the college is a competence centre where specialists in two areas are trained: Laboratory Chemical Analysis and Production of Polymer Goods. In addition, to enable Nizhnekamskneftekhim and the N. Lemayev Petrochemical and Petroleum Refining College to train specialists, the enterprise and the educational institutions had to upgrade their workers’ skills. For instance, six NKNK employees took a training course, became experts and prepared competitors for WorldSkills.
According to experts, all Nizhnekamskneftekhim participants are a hundred per cent ready. Now they just need to perform in the WorldSkills National Championship final well to be in the team Russia.
