The Portrait Art exhibition opened in Kazan Hermitage centre on 9 October. It includes about 400 exhibits from the collection of the State Hermitage and represents the brightest pages of the world portrait history.

This kind of exposition is held for the first time, its main idea is to show the genre in its historical development. The pieces of art from different countries and peoples gathered together to demonstrate the specifics of the portrait genre, its sources and diversity of forms.
