New isobutylene production unit launched at Nizhnekamskneftekhim

The isoprene-monomer plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC has launched a new isobutylene production unit with a capacity of 160,000 tonnes per year.

The new unit was inspected by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of TAIF PSC Albert Shigabutdinov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Ruslan Shigabutdinov, Member of the Board of Directors of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Vladimir Busygin and Director General of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Azat Bikmurzin, after which they pressed the symbolic button to start the production.

The commissioning of the isobutylene unit is the second investment project at the isoprene-monomer plant as part of a large-scale programme to increase the production of isoprene rubber to 330,000 tonnes per year. In total, three investment projects are planned at the plant: the first was implemented in September 2017, when the plant launched the unit for the production of formaldehyde. The company plans to implement the third stage of isoprene production modernization in the near future.

The awarding ceremony of employees of the isoprene-monomer plant took place during the opening of the production unit. The awards were presented by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Director of the isoprene-monomer production plant Rustam Gusamov and apparatchik of gas separation at the isoprene-monomer plant Ildar Sibgatullin received the honorary title 'Honored Chemist of the Republic of Tatarstan', electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment at the management for operation and repair of electrical equipment of plants of the 1 ^st industrial zone Valery Demin was awarded the honorary title 'Honored Power Engineer of the Republic of Tatarstan'. Deputy chief engineer of the plant for the production of isoprene monomer Evgeny Rossiev received the Gratitude Letter from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, mechanic-repairman of the plant for production of isoprene-monomer Ilshat Yakupov was awarded Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Energy of Russia. Head of the dehydrogenation shop of isobutane (IF-2,3) No. 1825 Ravil Valiullin and repairman of the plant for the production of isoprene-monomer Raif Khakimov received Honorary Diploma from the Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District.
