Mourning for the dead in Winter Cherry shopping centre in Kemerovo took place in Kazan near the fountain in Lenin Garden to which sympathetic citizens of Kazan are bringing flowers and toys.

The fire in Winter Cherry shopping centre claimed 64 lives, the majority of whom are kids. Civic campaigns dedicated to the memory of the fire victims in Kazan took place in tens of cities on 27 March.

President Vladimir Putin declared 28 March all-Russian mourning day. Earlier mourning for the dead in Kemerovo was declared in Ingushetia, Primorsky Krai, Buryatia, Ekaterinburg, Bryansk Oblast, Yakutsk and Novosibirsk.
