TAIF-NK supports the charitable campaign 'Helping to get ready for school'

On September 1st, 3,600 first-graders will go to schools of Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk municipal district. Some children are brought up in large and low-income families, for whom it is a big financial burden to prepare the child for school. To support such families, the republic runs the campaign 'Helping to get ready for school'. Traditionally, TAIF-NK oil refining company takes part in it, which this year has directed funds to purchase school bags and stationery for children.

In the centre of social assistance to family and children Vesta, the presentation of first school bags for future first-graders turned into a holiday. Know-Nothing and other fairy-tale characters who gave the first lesson came to accompany the children to adulthood. They taught how to pack a backpack properly and how to behave in the classroom — this is the basic knowledge, without which the school cannot do.

''Do we need scissors? A notebook? Do we need a calculator at school?'' asked the fairy-tale characters the future school students.

All the guests were children from large and low-income families. For them, the oil refining company TAIF-NK together with the centre for social assistance to families and children Vesta presented bright backpacks. Receiving the gift, the children immediately began to examine its contents — there were albums for drawing, pencils, pens, paints, pencil cases, notebooks, diaries, album for colouring, coloured paper inside. All this was presented to future first-graders in the framework of the charity event 'Helping to get ready for school', which has been held in the Republic of Tatarstan since 2007. TAIF-NK takes an active part in it every year. Thanks to the support of Director General of TAIF-NK PSC Rushan Shamgunov, the enterprise allocates funds every year to assist families in need.

''Thank TAIF-NK for giving me such a cool portfolio,'' the children said in chorus.

''Our children are always grateful to TAIF-NK for assistance. On behalf of our families, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the leaders of this enterprise for the support of large and poor families,'' said deputy director of the centre for social assistance to families and children Vesta Natalia Khramova.

Today, 130 needy families, whose children for the first time will cross the threshold of school this year, are registered in the centre Vesta. It is for such families in 2007 the charity campaign 'Helping to get ready for school' was created in the Republic of Tatarstan. Its purpose is to help low-income, large families, children with disabilities, as well as children living with parents with disabilities. From 2007 to 2016, 164,974 children were assisted throughout the country as part of the campaign. These are first-graders and students from 2nd to 11th grades. The financial assistance is estimated at 210 million 750 thousand rubles. Concerned residents make contributions, businesses that provide the funds for the charity also provide a significant contribution.

Future first-graders were presented school bags with all necessary stationery

From year to year, the school bag of the campaign 'Helping to get ready for school' includes all the necessary stationery for study. For families in need, this is a tangible help. According to estimates of one of the Russian banks, today preparing the child for school has become by a quarter more expensive than it was a year ago: goods for the new school year across the country have risen in price by 23%. The price for school uniform has increased the most, which on average costs 1,800 rubles, which is by 12,5% more than a year earlier. The cost of the average backpack is estimated at 930 rubles, the pencil case — 640 rubles.

Realizing the importance of the charitable campaign 'Helping to get ready for school', TAIF-NK oil refining company annually contributes funds for the preparation of children in need for the new school year. Due to this, many families of Nizhnekamsk municipal district save the family budget and children feel on a par with their classmates.
