Aida and Radamès will sing in Confederations Cup in Kazan

New festival called Kazan Classic Fest was created in honour of the sports competition

Tickets for June appeared in the opera theatre ticket offices on 12 April. A new international festival created due to the football competition will take place on the stage of the Jalil State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre at the end of the first summer month. Celebrated soloists will arrive in Kazan to participate in the festival. Realnoe Vremya tells the details.

Tickets are available now, but…

As it is known, tickets to two festivals – Shalyapin Opera Festival and Nuriev Ballet Festival — performed on the stage of the Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre don't stay for more than 2-3 days. According to forecasts, the same thing will happen to the new festival that will take place on the stage of the Kazan opera theatre.

The new international festival was created in honour of the Confederations Cup matches in Kazan. They will be in Kazan from 17 June to 2 July. The new festival will also invite citizens of Kazan and fans who will come to watch the matches during this period – from 19 to 29 June. Although the Confederations Cup games are just a kind of rehearsal of the Football World Cup, which will be in Russian cities including Kazan next summer, the new festival is going to be a serious cultural event.

Yury Larionov: ''The ticket prices for the new festival are reasonable – from 150 rubles to 1,500 rubles, though Shalyapin and Nuriev festival stars will be on the stage. So those who could not see them earlier will be able to do it in June. Photo: art16.ru

The theatre already has experience in holding festivals that fit sports events, and this experience is more than positive. In 2013, when Kazan hosted University Games, the opera theatre offered citizens of Kazan and guests a big cultural programme – Shalyapin–Nuriev–Kazan international festival dedicated to the sports event. For instance, Valery Gergiev with orchestra and many opera and ballet stars performed there.

''The ticket prices for the new festival are reasonable – from 150 rubles to 1,500 rubles, though Shalyapin and Nuriev festival stars will be on the stage. So those who could not see them earlier will be able to do it in June. The new festival's programme includes Aida, Il trovatore, Evgeny Onegin, Swan Lake, Don Quijote. Such stars as Agunda Kulaeva, Evez Abdulla, Najmiddin Mavlyanov, Anna Printseva, Aleksey Tatarintsev and others will be among the festival participants. Shalyapin-Nuriev-Kazan festival will be held in a year, during the Football World Cup like it was during the University Games,'' deputy director the opera theatre Yury Larionov commented the newspaper.

No ticket to the Nuriev Festival

According to Yury Larionov, no ticket left to the Nuriev Festival, which will be held on the stage of the Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The classic ballet festival named after Rudolf Nuriev will be in Kazan from 13 to 30 May. It will kick off with a premiere of Romeo and Juliette to Sergey Prokofiev's music. In addition, the festival playbill includes Anyuta, Swan Lake, Mass in B minor, Esmeralda, La Bayadère, The Golden Horde, Giselle, ou les Wilis, Don Quijote.

Two gala concerts where all stars perform on the stage traditionally adorn the festival. This year the festival gala concerts will be unusual – cult ballet dancer Andris Liepa will be the director for the first time. Knowing the originality of his mind, we can presuppose the gala concerts will be very curious.

''Our hall has 955 commercial seats. But the tickets to all plays were sold out. The tickets to the Nuriev Festival fluctuated from 250 to 3,500 rubles. The last price is for the gala concert. Moreover, we sell a bit more than 50 tickets to each play, their price is 100 rubles. They were also sold. In general, entrance tickets are tickets with seats, that is to say, a person will have an armchair where the sound is good but the view is not. Such tickets are also in demand,'' Yury Larionov tells.

The Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Theatre will also be open in July. It will open its new season with the last opera premiere of Tchaikovsky's The Queen of the Spades staged by Yury Aleksandrov.
