Aleksey Pesoshin about pyrolysis furnace launch at KOS: ''It will allow to increase ethylene and polyethylene production''

Four new pyrolysis furnaces were launched at Kazanorgsintez on the jubilee day

''A new modernisation stage designed for three years has begun at Orgsintez this year,'' Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin claimed during the presentation of four pyrolysis furnaces in the ethylene plant, in E-200 complex at Kazanorgsintez PJSC. The launch of the new furnaces was dedicated to the 60 th anniversary of foundation and 55th anniversary of the first product that was made in the enterprise. The new equipment is to substitute ten old furnaces that have run for almost 40 years. Realnoe Vremya's correspondent visited the launch of the four pyrolysis furnaces.

Four new pyrolysis furnaces against ten old

Workers who took part in the construction of the furnace unit gathered to participate in the official opening of four new pyrolysis furnaces on the site of the ethylene plant, in E-200 complex at Kazanorgsintez PJSC. Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, TAIF JSC Albert Shigabutdinov, Board Chairman of Kazanorgsintez PJSC Ruslan Shigabutdinov, Director General of Kazanorgsintez PJSC Farid Minigulov launched the furnaces as performance testing. According to a long tradition in the republic to implement new big projects during a jubilee, the launch of pyrolysis furnaces was dedicated to the 60 th anniversary of foundation and 55th anniversary of the first product that was made at Kazanorgsintez.

The construction of the four furnaces began in May 2017. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the site in March. He noted then it was the latest equipment that was to substitute ten old furnaces. Welcoming factory workers before the official launch of the new units, Aleksey Pesoshin reminded that TAIF had been modernising factories for more than two decades by successfully learning world companies' best experience.

''70% of main production capacities have been updated at Orgsintez in the last 15 years thanks to the support of TAIF GC. The enterprise annually implements a big number of projects aimed to increase profitability, efficiency of production capacities. Money of TAIF GC is invested to implement these projects, and about 8bn rubles were sent to finance major construction projects and update equipment only in 2017,'' Aleksey Pesoshin claimed.

He added the new modernisation stage at Kazanorgsintez is designed for three years. It's planned to invest over 10bn rubles in the construction of new facilities and purchase of equipment within the modernisation programme. The Tatarstan prime minister thanked the staff of Kazanorgsintez, contractors for a good job.

''The launch of the new pyrolysis furnaces will increase ethylene and polyethylene production, raise profitability, efficiency of products and reduce equipment maintenance costs. Orgsintez is one of the successful, modern, dynamically developing enterprises of the Russian petrochemical complex,'' Aleksey Pesoshin noted.

The prime minister awarded workers who took part in the erection of the four pyrolysis furnaces state awards

The prime minister awarded workers who took part in the erection of the four pyrolysis furnaces state awards. Rustam Akhmatgareyev, 6 th degree electric welder at Servicetechmontazh, got the title Honourable Constructor of the Republic of Tatarstan. Abuzar Rakhimov, chief technologist of the low-density polyethylene production and refining plant, became Honourable Chemist of the Republic of Tatarstan. Factory workers were also given letters of gratitude and awards.

''The history of the Kazanorgsintez staff was set down in letters of gold in the life of our city and the republic in 60 years''

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin congratulated Kazanorgsintez workers on the jubilee and the launch of the new equipment. He awarded the staff of Kazanorgsintez a letter of gratitude and a memento in the form of a cup.

''You give confidence in the future not only to the Kazanorgsintez staff but also the million city of Kazan,'' Ilsur Metshin

''The history of the Kazanorgsintez staff was set down in letters of gold in the life of our city and the republic in 60 years. Social projects where TAIF GC and Kazanorgsintez played a key role deserve separate words of gratitude. You open new factories, create jobs, give confidence in the future not only to the Kazanorgsintez staff but also the million city of Kazan,'' Ilsur Metshin added.

Board Chairman of Kazanorgsintez PJSC Ruslan Shigabutdinov stressed that guests and factory workers were witnessing the launch of the advanced production facilities meeting the highest technical standards and having big economic effectiveness.

''The new furnaces will produce almost a half of our ethylene output,'' Ruslan Shigabutdinov claimed

''The ethylene plant is a key element of Kazanorgsintez, while pyrolysis furnaces are its heart, in fact. The new furnaces will produce almost half of our ethylene output. The facility is serious, expensive, required much investment. But the furnace would remain a pile of metal without our team. Our employees are the most precious asset of Kazanorgsintez,'' Ruslan Shigabutdinov noted.

Farid Minigulov told that new pyrolysis furnaces will run more effectively, give more profit, more reliable performance, and they meet all ecological standards.

The technological process in the new furnace unit is fully automatic

The technological process in the new furnace unit is fully automatic, there is remote control, the pyrolysis furnaces are managed from the operator's room. Other industrial safety measures were also taken: feedstock and fuel gas supply pipelines are equipped with fast acting shut-off valves, sensors measuring the pressure, temperature and consumption, devices signalling the highest feedstock supply pressure.

Technip Benelux B.V. from the Netherlands designed the basic project of pyrolysis furnaces and supplied the equipment. Eight out of ten old furnaces will be withdrawn from the operation and disassembled. Two furnaces will keep working.
