Tatars in Moscow Kremlin: Bolgar Radiosy holds a concert on the main music scene of Russia

The star of the Russian movie ‘Election Day’ Kamil Larin will sing for Moscow audience of national music award Bolgar Radiosy in Tatar language

On 28 February, the national music award Bolgar Radiosy holds an anniversary concert in the State Kremlin Palace, celebrating three years from the day of its foundation. Muscovites themselves offered the major artists of the Tatar music award to perform on the main stage of the country. Realnoe Vremya provides the details of what famous Russian actor will sing Tatar songs, how the award differs from other Tatar projects and why the character of Tatar national fairy tale Shombay presents the concert.

'It was Moscow Tatars who offered'

Tatar stars will walk down the red carpet of the State Kremlin Palace: on 28 February, the main music arena will host the national music award Bolgar Radiosy. The singers who take the first places in audience voting in the programme 'Musical diste' ('Musical top 10') on the channel TNV from January 2015 will get the cherished right to perform on the main stage.

As general producer of the festival, a deputy director general of TNV Milyausha Aituganova told to Realnoe Vremya, Muscovites themselves offered to perform in the capital of Russia.

'This year we are celebrating three years since the foundation of teleradioproject 'Musical diste' ('Musical top 10'). For the three years, many singers have come to our show and the project has already become prominent. People actively vote for our artists not only in Tatarstan, but also beyond the Republic, including Moscow. Many Muscovites, knowing that Tatarstan has experience in conducting concerts in Moscow, offered to host the final concert in the Kremlin Palace, the proposal was from Moscow Tatars,' she said.

To understand how important the event is for Tatar stage, it is enough to recall who of local artists had performed on the same stage – Alla Pugacheva, Raimond Pauls, Sofia Rotaru, Nikolay Baskov and many other famous artists. Besides, in the Kremlin Palace global stars such as Tina Turner, Elton John, Sting, Joe Cocker, Bryan Adams have also performed. However, this place was not intended just for entertainment – during Soviet times, there congresses of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) were held.

'The song should be a hit record'

It is noteworthy that the veterans of pop music, as well as young performers, will protect the honour of the Tatar songs in the Kremlin. Everyone knows national artists of the Republic of Tatarstan Zainab Farhetdinova, Guzel Urazova, Ildar Khakimov, Zufar Bilalov. No less popular for the Tatar audience are Filyus Kagirov, Rishat Tukhvatullin, Radik Yulyakshin. By the way, the latter has a pseudonym Elvin Grey and he is well known in musical circles of Moscow.

First of all, the right to perform in the Kremlin Palace will go to those who took first places in the hit parade 'Musical diste' during the year, there are only 12 lucky artists. Also, an innovation for this year is the nomination for 'Records of the musical year'. In this category those were nominated who participated in the hit parade for all time of existence of the project 'Musical diste' and has achieved some major breakthrough. For example, who has toured the most during the year, has scored the greatest amount of views on Internet, performed the best soundtrack to the film. The winners of all these nominations will go to Moscow.

Perhaps, the main distinction of the award Bolgar Radiosy is that little-known artists will perform on the same stage together with the stars.

'The highlight of the programme will be a special guest Kamil Larin (photo on the poster), one of the founders of the comic theater Quartet, who starred in Russian films such as 'What men talk about', 'Day of radio', 'Election Day'.

He is Tatar from Volgograd, a very interesting person. Together with Moscow band Shurale he will sing in Tatar language,' told Milyausha Aituganova.

'With that concert programme we can tour around major cities of the Russian Federation'

The organizers emphasize that Bolgar Radiosy differs from other Tatar music awards. So, if the winner of Tatar Zhyry is chosen by the jury, the winner of Bolgar Radiosy is chosen by the listener, giving voice on the website TNV and Bolgar Radiosy. Tatar Mony – the contest of young performers, its main aim is to look for artists aged from 15 to 30 years in the regions of Russia. As a rule, the repertoire also differs: participants of Tatar Mony choose a popular or a classic song. However, the winners of the contest can participate in the project 'Musical diste' as well, which often serves as a springboard for artists who want to get on the Tatar stage.

Last year, 'a link' for musical performances was the story with two Ostaps Bender (a fictional con man who appeared in the novels The Twelve Chairs and The Little Golden Calf written by Soviet authors Ilya Ilf and Yevgeni Petrov), one of which was real, and the other was an impostor. They were looking for the treasure, which eventually turned out to be the Tatar hits and their performers. This year, the organizers turned to the folk epic, and a character is the Tatar storyteller Chombay. He will call fairy-tale characters from the chest. As a result, some familiar tales will get a modern version, as in the humorous dialogues will be of current themes.

'We took a chance to show our performance in Moscow, in the Kremlin Palace. If all will be successful, we are thinking about touring around major cities of the Russian Federation with this performance. Now we are only thinking about it,' said Aituganova.
