Winter has been given a farewell party in the island city of Sviyazhsk. Lazy Torzhok museum-reserve and centre for historical fencing and re-enactment invited guests to admire the festival in Christmas Square. The programme had Herculean fights and a wall-to-wall battle among the youth, circle dances, craft fair and masterclasses as well as Maslenitsa straw scarecrow burning.
