A monument to Soviet and Russian weapon designer Mikhail Kalashnikov opened at Kazan Higher Tank College on 11 November. The event was dedicated to the 100th birthday of the legendary designer. Kalashnikov's bust with a rifle in his arms is over 3 metres tall and is made of moulded marble and coated in bronze. Russian sculpturer Salavat Scherbakov is the author of the monument.
