45 000 people took part in the action Immortal regiment, which took place on 9 May in the center of Kazan. People were carrying portraits of relatives who fought in the Great Patriotic War. The procession was headed by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The action was joined by RT State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and the chairperson of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin.
