At a meeting with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov's residency, the regional leader thanked him for cooperation with Russia and Tatarstan. In turn, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted Kazakhstan had very warm relations with Russia, while the relations with Tatarstan were very close. After the talk, Nazarbayev awarded Minnikhanov the highest award of the Republic of Kazakhstan for non-residents of the country - 1st Degree Dostyk (Friendship) Order.
