An exhibition called Petersburg Art Nouveau. 1890–1910 years. Style and Secular Fashion opened in Hermitage-Kazan centre on 5 October. The clothes that were demonstrated on the exhibition were created by a fantasy of the best designers of Paris like Charles Worth, Jeanne Paquin, Callot Soeurs, Paul Poiret and also their Russian colleagues - August Brizak from Petersburg and Nadezhda Lamanova in Moscow. The most of the exhibits comes from Anichkov Palace and Winter Palace. But some of them were brought from mansions of the Yusupovs and the Shuvalovs noble families, that is to say, from wardrobes of the Romanovs (Empresses Maria Feodorovna and Aleksandra Feodorovna and also Emperor Nikolay II) and the Russian nobility. A separate collection consists of costumes that belonged to an artist of Moscow theatres Vera Karakhan (Dzheneyeva). The Hermitage Museum purchased them in 1971.
