Rustam Minnikhanov about superconductivity project: ''I think the world is on the brink of new discoveries''

The meeting of the Board of Directors of Tatneftekhiminvest-holding OJSC was dedicated to the discussion of prospects of application of high-temperature superconductivity (HTSC) in Tatarstan industry. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has become interested in this technology, which can be applied for the extraction of heavy oil in the Republic. For a deeper study of the project, they have decided to create a working group which will include representatives of Grid Company OJSC as well as Tatenergo JSC, Tatneft and TAIF. The correspondent of Realnoe Vremya followed the course of the meeting.

Rosatom's superconductor goes to Tatarstan

Viktor Pantsyrny, managing director of Russian Superconductor JSC delivered a report on the prospects of the ''superconductivity project'' of Rosatom (the project of high-temperature superconductivity). According to him, this technology is the future of energy.

''In German Essen, the world's longest superconducting cable with a length of 1 km, designed to transfer 40 MW of power from one substation to another, has operated since September 2014. In New York, a 600-meter cable on Long Island is connected to the network,'' began his report Pantsyrny.

According to him, Russia has already started the industrial use of advanced technologies, now it is the turn of Tatarstan. Russian Superconductor aims at the energy systems of the region.

Viktor Pantsyrny: ''The most promising is the creation of cable systems of energy transmission projects, electric propulsion projects, where heavy-duty engines are used, particularly in gas and oil industry''

On the threshold of superconductivity

''Superconducting products turned out to be on the stage of commercialization — embedding of them in the energy systems and complexes. The most promising is the creation of cable systems of energy transmission projects, electric propulsion projects, where heavy-duty engines are used, particularly in gas and oil industry,'' said Pantsyrny.

''What about the mining of high viscosity oil? How it (technology — editors' note) can be used?'' asked Minnikhanov.

''Since additional steam injection, reinforcing a solvent, is required, here the additional generation is required from oil transmission. That is, the additional power supply, therefore, we offer superconducting ones,'' said Pantsyrny.

TANECO as the approbator

Nail Maganov, Director General of Tatneft PJSC, expressed readiness to test the technology at TANECO. After that, Minnikhanov instructed to create a working group consisting of representatives of the Grid Company, Tatneft, TAIF and Tataenergo for ''cooperation in this direction''.

''I think that the world is on the brink of great discoveries,'' summed up Minnikhanov.

Then, Chritian Dupraz, Director of the companies Heurtey Petrochem and Axens, presented his report to the participants of board of directors of Tatneftekniminvets-Holding. He offered the services of the company on heavy residue conversion complex.

''The company Axens is the world class supplier in the sector of petrochemical products, occupying the leading positions in the following areas: purification of monomers, intermediates and olefins of special purpose, production and purification of cyclohexane, benzene, toluene and para-xylene,'' said Dupraz, noting that the companies have the ''experience in cooperation with Tatarstan''.

Minnikhanov recommended TAIF-NK and TANECO to continue to work with Heurtey Petrochem and Axens.

Director of Investservice PLC Aleksander Plikus presented the possibilities of the Novocherkassk plant of oil mechanical engineering (Neftekhimmash) for oil and gas processing and oil and gas production.

''One of the areas of the company — the installation of a block of furnaces for oil refineries,'' said Plikus, representing the company.

''Do you have experience in working with Tatarstan companies?'' asked Rustam Minnikhanov.

''Yes, in 2009 we supplied equipment to TANECO and coils for repair works in December,'' said the speaker.

Minnikhanov recommended the company to participate in tenders on a number of projects of TAIF, TANECO.

''We will invite to our tenders,'' said Minnikhanov.

''Do we use such technologies?'' asked Minnikhanov

Apple and Google of non-cash payments

''DLS Technology is Apple and Google of non-cash payments,'' began his presentation Director of the Digital Loyalty System PLC Insaf Khairullin, presenting projects Digital Loyalty System (DLS) for universal payment systems.

''This year we want to enter Europe, in 2018 — China. We offer to implement projects with leading companies of Tatarstan to promote automotive products and household products, I mean the group of companies Nefis,'' said the speaker.

''Do we use such technologies?'' asked Minnikhanov. Having received the affirmative response, the head of the Republic noted the need to use the technology by the manufacturers.
