Aleksander ‘Dostoverkin’ Chernoudov: ‘I have friends in Putin’s Administration but I didn’t get money’

The disclosed network character — about the successful information stuffing and the nuclear vatniques

The event of last week for the Russian social media was the disclosure of the identity of one of the top pro-Kremlin Russian bloggers on Twitter under the name @dostoverkin. As it turned out, more than four years under the pseudonym of an Internet user, known for his provocative actions against the opposition, there was hiding a 28-year citizen of Kazan Aleksander Chernoudov. In the first exclusive interview to Realnoe Vremya he told about his sources of income, the life in Turkey, the sentiments of the pro-government bloggers and more.

'I saw that the pro-government circle was losing significantly on the informational arena'

Could you tell us about yourself?

I was born in Arkhangelsk, lived there until I was 3. Then my mother, sister and I moved to Kazan. First, I studied in the school number 55, then I studied in the gymnasia number 7 until the 6 th grade, then I was enrolled in the Tatar-Turkish Lyceum on Chetaeva Street. I finished Lyceum, graduated with the golden medal somehow, then I won the joint Tatar-Turkish grant and study grant at the most prestigious Turkish university – the Bosphorus University.

What did you study there?

I studied Political Science and International Relations. I studied and did business in Turkey at the same time. <…> In Turkey I lived for 8 years, then I moved to Moscow.

Why and how have you become a blogger?

Actually, it is a very interesting story. I think I can tell this about now. At a high of protest sentiments that were in Russia – that time I was in Turkey – I saw that the pro-government circle was losing significantly on the informational arena. I thought that they lacked some zest. In the end, I found on the Internet a blank of a university, removed a header and a footer and wrote my first text, according to which on 4 March there was the presidential elections for Putin and those who had not come up, had not vote for Putin and had not bring the approval for it, those would do a labour practice in summer two times. I did a fake document and posted on Pikabu entertaining website.

I was very surprised when in the evening I saw the document in practically all popular publics in Vkontakte, but an even greater surprise I had after I saw it in the prime time on Dozhd TV channel and the blog Echo of Moscow of not respecting by me Mr. Ganapolsky. This post was shown as a clear example of falsification that the power did. In fact, I waited all this informational Bacchanalia out. The poor university all day fought off the journalists and tried to prove that the people whose signatures there were did never exist in nature and the rector's name was completely different. I wrote a post in which I said: guys, well, you, before to accuse Putin, the reptilians from the planet Nibiru, or someone else, you could just verify the facts but you did not. And everyone who started to post this story, and accuse the authority – the slow-witted cretins.

It is curious. What was the aim of this post?

To demonstrate that 80% of screamers either they themselves make fakes – it is those who is smarter, and those who is more stupid – they chew over these fakes. In other words, the aim of this post was to demonstrate that all informational field is full of fakes. This post was quite successful, I learned what it means to get into the top LJ, the journalists started to ask me to comment how it happened. In the result, I did it for about 10 times.

In Kazan once there was a problem: a person was killed in a police station. Local liberals started to use these incident to rock the boat. I created in twitter a couple of fake accounts of some local Tatar oppositionists and made up a story that they allegedly sprayed on the mayor building 'Putin is a theft'. I even made a fake photo in photoshop. These people started to ask for help from Navalny, Chirikova and all their circle. They were noticed, started to re-tweet them and I entered the informational space.

'My activity as a blogger was not paid'

Could you tell us about your work?

I am engaged in the media communications, work with the media scene: I create images, work with journalists. The company is not comparable with Apostol, according to the principle of action – it is. There are a number of key clients that are the base. The old ones are gradually leaving but new ones come.

Only on the Russian market?

I would say this backstage company is only for the friends, that is why they do not have an initiative to say about themselves actively.

Is it true that you are a Kremlin blogger?

I am going to tell the sensational thing, but from Kremlin and pro-Kremlin structures, despite the fact that I have friends among the guys in the Administration of the President and from Molodaya Gvardiya of the United Russia, I have not received any direct financing as a blogger.

What about indirect?

I mean the direct financing when someone give you money and say: 'Write something good'. My activity as a blogger was not paid.

It turns out you just have friendship with the authorities if you publish such posts?

In fact, it is doubtful, because recently certain pro-authority persons started to hate me. I will explain why. Now there is a situation when there is a certain segment of audience, and if to abstract from the Internet – the residents of our huge country, whom I call nuclear vatniques. These people are so stupid that they love pictures with America destroyed by nuclear explosion. They constantly want to bomb someone, to turn into radioactive ashes or to shoot. Unfortunately, these people are getting more and more. That's why in twitter they always start: 'Why don't string somebody up?' Excuse me, who the hell are you in order to string somebody up, for example Navalny? With all my disrespect to Navalny. We have law enforcement agencies, we have state of law, the social agreement between the authorities and the society. We empowered the authorities with certain fuctions in order we lived well and in those configuration where we live in. Why does some Vasya Ivanov from Uryupinsk, sitting at the a greasy monitor, want to kill Navalny or Chirkova of to turn America into radioactive ash?

What is even sadder, at certain levels that are higher than Uryupinsk and a greasy monitor of Vasya Pupkin, among people who are in the media and have a certain authority, they begin to heat up this nuclear-vatnique hysteria, thereby increasing the number of these strange people. I think this is quite a big problem at the moment, because radicalism in any form, even if a person would say that it is for the Motherland, for Stalin, for Putin – I don't know for someone else, if he is a radical by nature and trying to advance the ideology further: to kill someone, blow up, or something else – is a big problem for the country. But people who support the government (maybe even some pro-government structures) and, at the same time, rationally assess the situation and can think and understand that everything I listed is horrible and disgusting – they are becoming less and less.

Now the whole society is divided into those who firmly believes it, and those who are forced to believe it. In fact, it's scary. I even posted in my twitter a couple of times: even if now we should fear someone, some certain individuals, which can alter for the worse the current situation, it is not Navalny, Chirikova, and other people who are just ridiculous in their attempts, it is those nuclear vatniques, who are slowly spreading. And even if we have any problems in the near future mostly it will be because of them rather than from so-called non-system opposition.

So, what is your attitude to the authorities, their actions?

I voted for Putin and the United Russia. In the next elections I will also vote for Putin and the United Russia.

Does that mean that in spite of the mentioned things you are satisfied with everything?

I respect Putin very much and I will always vote for him. Look, you're asking me if I am satisfied with everything. For example, I come to Omsk, see the roads and despite my love to Putin and the United Russia I can't say that I'm satisfied with it. That is, the general configuration, which we have at the moment, exist, most likely, due to the fact that it has no alternative. We are accustomed to some stability, security, which we have at the moment. In general, I'm satisfied, but if to take into account details, there are a number of quite serious problems. This is the topic for a more global discussion.

'Erdogan knew that the relations will be re-established soon'

Could you tell us how do people in Turkey treat the resumption of relations with Russia? What are the sentiments there?

We can compare the two layers of society – Russian and Turkish. Our society has the leader. The Turkish society has the leader. No matter what attitude they have, the most part, unfortunately, of uneducated Turkish population love Erdogan and they are willing to listen to his every word.

'My social circle in Turkey, as I studied there at the University, consists of those 40% who do not support Erdogan. These guys know how to think critically and they don't understand why the bember was shot down. Oddly enough, among those 60% there are people who are perplexed and do not understand why it was done. Despite this they support Erdogan.' Photo: mynewsonline24.ru

About 60% support him and 40% — it is the opposition. 60% who support him, the most part — it is uneducated people who live in the villages. The people who support him, they are very susceptible to mass propaganda through the media, and Erdogan just 'killed' all opposition media.

My social circle in Turkey, as I studied there at the University, consists of those 40% who do not support Erdogan. These guys know how to think critically and they don't understand why the bomber was shot down. Oddly enough, among those 60% there are people who are perplexed and do not understand why it was done. Despite this they support Erdogan.

It should be noted that there was not any mass hysteria that in Russia they are scums and scoundrels. In the media there was just information that, yes, we did it, Russia is not right at the moment, but it is still our strategic partner. They did not have a clear indication that Russia is our enemy. Erdogan knew that soon the relationship will be re-established, but if there are some unpleasant events, it will be much harder to establish them. Therefore, speaking about how the conflict was perceived among people, a number of people reacted to this very negatively, some people were perplexed, but there was not any hostility to the Russians.

What about the terrorist attacks?

People get used to everything. There was no panic.

How do you think, is it dangerous to go there now?

I can't' answer this question. Perhaps, it is the same as to go to the resorts of the North Caucasus.
